Paradox - Short FIlm (Analysed)

'Paradox' is a very well constructed film as it relies heavily on it's script. The product focuses on our lead man lost in time as he wakes up in at the bottom of the well, stuck with another character who claims that they are in the medieval time period and should not leave this well as there is great danger above.

This short film was phenomenal as it challenges audiences in regards to their ability to cast aside disbelief and be immersed within the world and story seen within this product, allowing the audience to find themselves following the perspective of the lead character as he too is unaware of what is going on around him; therefore acting as the audiences eyes into this world since we too are experiencing this would for the first time.

The product is well crafted as its direction consists of limiting the environment to the bottom of the well, creating the sense of confinement which reflects the character's internal emotional struggles and that then causes the audience to grow tense and uneasy; ultimately creating great tension. Another creative way that the director has emphasises the claustrophobic nature of the film's script is by emphasising on the depth of the well and the lack of sight from the outside world.

I ultimately found this short film to be very effective in terms of the way it was executed and it's take on the ideas behind our perception of time and space; it was all handled with such depth and creative ways that the script incorporated that allowed the audience to immerse themselves within the world of 'Paradox'.
